The Taste of Italy
The wide variety of Italy’s food and wine heritage is a rich scenario for the discovery of little-known delicacies and arouses curiosity in participants.
Sensations are triggered by crucial factors like setting, service and product presentation.
Wine-tasting in ancient wine cellars of stately homes, oil and other typical products sampled in charming olive presses and cheeses in traditional dairies, tours of vinegar production premises or a trip along the excellent DOC wine route … FarmTraveller is currently offering all these options as part of its events and meetings organization programme.
Recently many venues have set up cookery schools that were originally aimed at tourists and subsequently offered to events and meetings attendees.
The current trend for tastings and for cookery schools is to use these activities as entertainment so the pure learning aspect is set aside to some extent, opening the door to fun, team-building and socialization.
The very latest pursuit is the truffle hunt, which has all the elements of a game hunt with dogs as a key element.
The guides not only describe how the dogs work and are trained, but also explain the nutritional characteristics and the composition of the truffle; the hunt is followed by a cookery lesson, showing participants how to prepare truffles and truffle recipes. The day ends with a dinner of truffle-based dishes, of course.
